Don’t forget! Photo show opening at Lyrik Cafe tonight, August 4th, from 5-9:30pm! We love this photographer, and these select stills are of beautiful European moments :)
Oregon is an amazing, amazing state. Home to some of the largest tracts of intact wilderness in the entire country, it’s absolutely mind-blowing how very much space there is here. If you’ve never explored eastern Oregon, you’re missing a huge and devastating landscape. Over two-thirds of our state is desert, and the population density is loooow. Serious, desolate wilderness. Within that are places of pure magic. Right now we are in love with the Oregon Natural Desert Association. The last link is to their website, and the title link goes to their facebook page, which has some gorgeous pictures that will make you long to grab a tent and some water and head east (well, that’s how it makes us feel). This Thursday, 3/29, from 6-9 pm, they’re giving a talk at the EcoTrust building right here in Portland: Learn About the Owyhee Canyonlands. They’ll have beer (bonus!!) and be sharing images and stories about the Owyhee Canyonlands.
Today the lovely Susie came all the way from Baltimore to get her tattoo!
The pictures: the real black chanterelle she found that inspired the tattoo; Melanie’s pen drawing rendition; the finished tattoo; the AMAZING present Susie made! It includes a beer from Baltimore, a jar of pickled black chanterelles, and candy cap (sweet mushroom) cookies!!!
All in all, so amazing. Thank you Susie!
